Retraction Policy for Published Articles
The Editorial Board of the journal Political Life adheres to the ethical principles of scholarly publishing and ensures an appropriate response to cases of academic misconduct. If significant violations are identified, the Editorial Board may retract a previously published article.
Grounds for article retraction include: confirmed cases of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or data falsification/fabrication; submission of an article without the consent of all co-authors or the existence of disputes regarding authorship; duplicate submission or duplication of publication in another journal; substantial errors in the content that affect the reliability of the conclusions; violations of research ethics (for example, absence of approval from an ethics committee or the use of unethical research methods); and violations of the rights of third parties, including copyright infringement or breaches of confidentiality.
Retraction Procedure
A decision to initiate consideration of a retraction may be proposed by the Editorial Board, the author(s), reviewers, readers, or any interested party through an official notification to the editorial office.
The Editorial Board conducts an internal investigation, involving, where necessary, experts, authors, and representatives of relevant institutions.
If the violation is confirmed, the Editorial Board makes a decision to retract the publication.
An official retraction notice is published in the journal, clearly explaining the reasons and circumstances of the retraction. This notice is linked to the original article in the electronic archive.
All published electronic versions of the article remain accessible but are clearly marked “RETRACTED” in the file name and in the link to the article on the journal’s website.
Retraction is not a punishment but a mechanism aimed at maintaining academic integrity.
Authors have the right to submit an explanation or appeal, which will be considered by the Editorial Board.
When considering such matters, the Editorial Board follows the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
