Political preconditions for the European integration of Poland.

The article studies the political preconditions for Poland’s European integration. Political preconditions are viewed in two forms: internal and external. Taking into consideration the transformation peculiarities of the Polish society from a post-socialist to a democratic one, the article studies the influence of collapse of “Solidarnist” as a key internal factor of change in the Polish society. The article looks at its place in the system of authority distribution, its interaction with the ruling parties and attempts to dialogue establishment.
The external political situation of Poland is highlighted on the example of the activity of K. Skubiszewski and the establishment of the pro-European vector of development. Signing the Association Agreement gave Poland an opportunity to return to the united Europe. The long-term European integration process had a negative influence on the attitudes of the Polish people to the European Union.
Key traits of Poland’s policy of the 1990-s are determined in the course of the study. Its characteristic features include the negative image, undefined internal political programs combined with a determined external policy aimed at becoming closer to the EU.
