The role of political parties in the political process is revealed. The duration of the functioning of political parties as important subjects in politics allows to clarify their specificity and to highlight a number of significant stages in their formation. It is concluded that the formation of the prerequisites for the establishment of political parties is associated with the presence of unresolved problems in society. On the one hand, some people experience discontent with the existing situation, and on the other, there are leaders who are able to capture this discontent and give it the desired direction and to create a political party.References
