Elections in the modern world: maintenance of democracy or disguise of its destruction?

Abstract

This article is devoted to the analyses of features of electoral procedure’s realization in the political systems of the modern states, which can come forward both instrument of development and strengthening of democracy and as a smoke-screen, covering the process of its destruction. The tendency of excessive electoral process’s technologization in all his phases and measuring and walking away from its base principles and tasks is traced. Development of communications, technologies, MASS-MEDIA, methods of influence gave the deceitful impression, that main in an electoral process is a result, victory at any cost. It is necessary to realize a purpose of electoral process as not intensifying of opposition, being investigation excessive tension during elections, and reconciliations, consolidations, non-admissions of conflict, search of the generally accepted variants of social and political development, providing of progress of the state and society.
