The article is dedicated to comparative analysing the institutional attributes of the number, size and membership of the permanent parliamentary committees in the European representative democracies. The research was conducted based on content analysis and the methodology of new institutionalism. The scientists identified the different size groups of parliaments/legislature in the European democracies, compared the number and size of the permanent parliamentary committees, analysed the features of MPs’ membership in committees, discovered the principles, techniques and formula of committee members and chairs sharing, outlined the features of committees’ membership substitution. The analysis covered a sample of 45 representative democracies in Europe.References
