Abstract

The article is devoted to the use of strategic communications by the European Union in solving the migration problem that arose in 2015. In the context of globalization, communicative tools have become an integral part of all spheres of political relations. That is why the solution of the migration crisis problem is considered and analyzed through the prism of strategic information impact. Unsystematized use of strategic communications in the view of the migration problem has resulted in the failure of concluding a common migration policy, which has led to the violation of political and economic stability in Europe, the escalation of interethnic conflicts, as well as the threat of regional security.
The main surveys on the ways of implementation of strategic communications by the European government are presented. It was revealed that from the very beginning of the migration crisis, the European Union was not able to inform the population with unfailing regularity about the problem. It was found that the current state of regulation of migration flows shows significant progress in reaching agreements between the governments of EU member states. It has been proven that, thanks to coordinated efforts, the European Union has managed to reduce the influx of refugees. However, the outbreak of coronavirus has led to new problems in the migration crisis. The period of the pandemic contributes to misinformation and disorder, leading to increased aggression against refugees.
The need for the immediate introduction of strategic communications for the integration and approval of a common migration policy is emphasized. Based on the latest research, recommendations have been identified for improving the process of systematization of strategic communications for the conclusion of a common EU migration policy and the transition to a new stage in resolving the migration crisis.
